The best way to start hardwood flooring installation in Minneapolis is to have us come out and look at your project. We can definitely do it over the phone but the very best way is to have us come out to the site so we can take a look at the project in person. The 1st thing we are looking at is your subfloor system. There is a variety of subfloor systems, some are used for solid 3/4" flooring
othersare used for engineered hardwood floors and of course we have other that need floating floor systems. Once we have determined the type of subfloor you have we start
looking for any height issues with the product we are going to recommend. Making sure you can open your door and have a rug down in front of it, making sure we don't
build your dishwasher in, is there eniough height above the refridegerator with the cabinet above it just to list a few iterms. Once we figure this out we can start picking out
your wood flooring. We wil go over the pro's and con's on prefinished to unfinished hardwood flooring. Once the product is decided what you are going with we will send you
toour distributor of this product so that you can look at the newest samples and be able to look at the product on the floors also. If this new construction we would be glad to look
at your blueprints and make suggestions from it on how to proceed with your flooring options. Solid, engineered, floating and glue down. With all these different types of
hardwood flooring, the application is also different. All our employees are trained in each different type of application to insure your floor comes out the way it should. The main
part of the installation begins with the sub floor prep. The sub floor is to be leveled 1st to insure a flat floor when completed. Then comes the squeak test, by screwing down these
area's minimizes or eliminates the squeak. Underlayment for each type of flooring is recommended by either the manufacture or mill. Whether it is a rosin paper or foam pad.
After thisprep then thedecision of which way the floor should lay is determined. The layout of the floor is determined by the joist system. If the sub floor is 1/2" or 3/4" the flooring
should be layed across the joist for the best structural support for the flooring. If the sub floor is 1 1/4" thick the flooring may be layed which ever way desired. The 45 degree
angle can belayed over either sub floor application. Our crews are there to determine all these factors when accessing the job site. Whether your floor is to be stapled, floated
or glued down the crew on site willbe able to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have in regards to the installation. Our goal is to give you the best structural
and visual application in the installation of your hardwood floors.
